LPV-Approach Solution for Boeing 737-NextGen
Logic Air’s STC integrates renowned CMC’s CMA-5024 GPS/SBAS Landing System Sensor Units and Gables Engineering’s VHF NAV Control Panels with aircraft systems (FMS, EFIS and DFCS) to provide operational and safety benefits of Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) fully coupled precision landing capability.
Enhanced Availability
Protects scheduled service between city pairs when ILS is out of service or unavailable. Greater runway coverage than ILS.
Stability and Precision
Offers a more stable approach to CAT-1 minima than ILS. LPV minimums are consistently lower than RNAV (Area Navigation) minimums.
Versatility and Robustness
Supports RNP and RNP AR approaches, making it adaptable to various operational scenarios, theoretically capable of a rock-solid glide path up to 80 miles from the landing runway threshold.
Adaptability
Displays an ILS look-alike interface, simplifying crew interaction requiring minimal training.
Additional Benefits
- No additional fuselage penetration or OEM software required.
- Interoperable with EGNOS, WAAS, etc.
- Does not require replacement of MMR.
- Readily interfaces with any other existing aircraft system (Transponder (ADS-B), HUG, CPDLC, EGPWS, etc.)

SBAS Landing System for Boeing 737-Classic
Logic Air’s STC integrates renowned CMC’s CMA-5024 GPS/SBAS Landing System Sensor Units and CMA-5025 SLS control panels (or Gables’ Touch DU – EASA 10075510) with the aircraft systems (FMS, EFIS and DFCS) to provide operational and safety benefits of Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) fully coupled precision landing capability.
This system can be implemented in two parts
GPS / RNP
Introduces the GPS sensor units with the required interface to the aircraft systems (IRS, ADC, FMS, EGPWS and Transponder (ADS-B)) for RNP 1/RNP 0.3 operation.
SLS / LPV
Provides GPS precision landing capability in an ILS look-alike format, requiring minimal crew training.
Enhanced Availability
Protects scheduled service between city pairs when ILS is out of service, or unavailable. Greater runway coverage than ILS.

Introduction of Second Flight Management Computer for Boeing 737-Classic
Logic Air’s STC adds a Flight Management Computer (FMC) to a non- FMC-provisioned aircraft; the installation is fully integrated with all aircraft systems and coupled with the F/D and A/P for LNAV/VNAV.
Logic Air’s installation kit is complete and reconfigures the existing FMC into FMC-L and introduces FMC-R (in E1-2 shelf). Furthermore, this installation conforms to the Boeing Airplane Flight Manual, so crew training is not required.
Versatility
Dual FMC greatly improves the aircraft’s versatility, meets the requirement of RNP 4, RNP 2, RNP 1, RNP APCH, RNP AR (per SL-02-025-D).
Adaptability
Designed to accommodate provisioned or non-provisioned aircraft. No additional software and/or Service Bulletins are required.
Enhanced Opportunities
Dual FMC is required for transoceanic/extended over-water operation.
Additional Benefits
- Increases the aircraft’s dispatchability
- Retains navigation capability in the event of first FMC failure
- Simplifies CAA issuance of RNP 1/RNP 0.3 operational certificate
- Enhances aircraft value (imparting it with identical operational performance to newer generation aircraft, when coupled with Logic Air’s GPS STC)
